The London Podiatry Centre knows that leg length differences can cause a range of potential injuries but that they are also very difficult to measure accurately.
Problems arise because most techniques involve trying to measure the length of bones by feeling them through skin, muscle and fat, which reduces accuracy.
X-rays are more accurate and CT even more so, although this involves radiation exposure which patients may wish to avoid, especially children.
The London Podiatry Centre’s ultrasound guided method of measuring leg length is safe, non-invasive and involves no radiation exposure.
