Footwear

For many sports people their shoes are their single most important piece of equipment and in general footwear is essential to everyday urban living.  The London Podiatry Centre  has developed a highly objective, scientifically based test that to our knowledge is not available elsewhere.  This test allows for the assessment and comparison of shoes during walking and or running.  The COMFT test is one of the most advanced shoe tests available and is performed at The London Podiatry Centre on athletes and non-athletes alike.   The test gives a score where by the closer the shoe scores to zero, the better it optimises foot function.  

The London Podiatry Centre offers a semi customised shoe service from Ken Hall.  Ken Hall are at the forefront of orthopaedic footwear and they manufacture an extensive range of stock, modular, and fully bespoke footwear.   Following your gait analysis semi-bespoke footwear may be recommended if you are having difficulty with finding a retail shoe to accommodate your foot shape.  Or perhaps you need a shoe that is not available in the retail sector that will help to improve function and reduce pain.   Ken Halls' ranges include footwear for adults and children.  These high quality shoes are ordered after extensive measurement techniques and made of superior materials. The advantages of semi-bespoke footwear is in the diverse sizes which are available, catering for even the most challenging of foot shapes.   

It can be a challenge to get footwear to wear indoors or outdoors during warmer months or on hotter climates that will provide support and are also acceptable aesthetically.  We work with EdserLabs who provide custom made FlopThotics which are fabricated on a 3D model of your foot.  These sandals and FlopThotics are fully customisable to an orthotic prescription and are available in a number of colours which you can choose to make your unique shoe.
