Foot orthoses are sometimes required to address and improve deficiencies in gait. Foot orthoses are shoe inserts designed to support, align, or improve the function of the foot. There are many different kinds of foot orthotics. Those recommended by The London Podiatry Centre are often prescription devices, custom-made to suit your individual needs and biomechanics following a detailed gait assessment. However depending on your situation, non-prescription prefabricated or semi-customised devices may be adequate and are also available at The London Podiatry Centre. The London Podiatry Centre has a highly scientific approach and uses various technologies to ensure that these medical appliances improve function
Bracing
Bracing may be required for problems associated with conditions such as adult acquired flat foot, Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction, Drop foot and other pathology associated with nerve or muscle damage .
The
London Podiatry Centre can prescribe The Richie Brace which is a
custom ankle brace (ankle foot orthoses) designed to treat chronic
conditions of the foot and ankle which can detrimentally affect gait.
The team are well equipped to treat your most challenging biomechanical
problems and following a detailed kinematic and kinetic gait analysis we
will be able to determine the best treatment options for you in regards
to the prescribing the Ritchie Brace. If your foot condition is
complex then you may also require to other disciplines such as
physiotherapy, osteopathy or referral for a consultant opinion. and this
will also be considered during your assessment and gait analysis.
